Booking terms and conditions:
- The maximum group size is 14 people (including children). You are aware that a group of this size will need the full capacity of the facilities at Butcombe New Wood, it is not designed for groups larger than this.
- Parking is immediately outside the entrance, there is space for 4 cars if you park tightly. No vehicles are allowed on the site. If you have extra vehicles you will need to find on-road parking for the rest a little further from the site. Please do not block neighbouring field entrances.
- Dogs are welcome but we are surrounded by fields of sheep and dogs could easily get through the hedges. It is your responsibility to keep your dog under close control at all times.
- At least one members member of your group must be 21 or over. All under-18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.
- Cancellations: if you cancel the booking we cannot refund sums already paid. We may at our discretion offer an alternative date if you give reasonable notice.
- Full payment must be made 4 weeks before your arrival date, otherwise we reserve the right to cancel your booking without refund.
- Bookings are nominative and non-transferable. That means that whoever makes the booking must be part of the group, the booking can’t be passed on or sold to anyone else.
- Please only book with us if you are happy to comply with our campsite rules:
- Dogs: Please be considerate of neighbouring farms, you are in a rural area and their livestock is their livelihood. There are often sheep in neighbouring fields so please keep dogs under close control. Dogs are welcome but please clear up after them. Dog poo can be put in the compost loo or with your general waste.
- Noise: In these peaceful surroundings noise travels a long way. Neighbouring farms and houses are quite close even though they are out of sight. Please keep noise levels reasonable during the day and especially low at night. Loud voices carry a long way. Amplified music is only allowed at very low levels. Please be respectful to our neighbours.
- Fires: Please use the fire pit provided for your campfire, please don’t move it. If you bring disposable BBQs please put them on bricks not on the grass as they will leave a burnt patch (even if you use the wire stand that is sometimes provided). Firewood is provided (and more is available, see above). You are welcome to pick up other dead wood for your campfire but please don’t cut or break any living trees or other plants.
- Safety: No sky lanterns (“Chinese lanterns”) please, there’s too much risk of fire if they get caught in the trees around the site or beyond.
- Safety: There are high voltage power lines in the area so we request that for your own safety you don’t use drones or kites.
Please respect and look after the trees, plants and animals. - Vehicles: Please park considerately and legally. Please do not block the other gate off the layby, it’s used frequently by large farm vehicles (sometimes early morning) and by Bristol Water including 24 hour maintenance access. No motorised vehicles or caravans are allowed on site.
